this is the largest apple retail store in the world! and is located here in ritzy fith avenue in manhattan and is just across Central park. You would not miss it as you can see the huge Apple Logo etched in Transparent Glass. The Apple Store is actually located below and you either take the stairs or the elevator going down to view the latest apple gizmos like the Upcoming Iphone 6 which will be launched in September 9, 2014! rumor has it that Apple will have a larger 4.7 inch version and also a 5.5 inch version to compete with Samsung's S5 and Galaxy Note 4 for world sumpremacy! (nah, they won't beat samsung ever! since Steve Jobs is now gone and Tim Cook is no visionary).

Get your new Iphone 6 for about $ 199 if with Contract with A T & T or about $ 599 if not (only the 16 gigabyte models) or how about buying the latest I Mac or an IPAD or IPAD AIr.

The store shut at 3:00 PM on launch day and reopened at 5:00 PM. The lineup went around the block. Kudos to Steve Jobs and the Apple Marketing Machine.

What to buy: All of those overpriced Apple toys. Remember, these toys depreciate in value faster than a car. Also remember, you can only load things that Apple lets you on these overpriced pieces of hardware.

This is the famous glass cube showcase Apple Store in NY. It is located right on the south-east corner of central park. In addiotion to buying the latest and greatest from Apple, they let you use their computers to check your mail, update your blog or read the latest news from home, for free.

What to buy: iPhone, iPods, Macs and accessories.

What to pay: Depends on what you buy, but a lot less than what you pay in Norway where I come from.

Apple's flagship store is a truly landmark at the southeast corner of Central Park, despite the fact that the entire store is under the street level. Only the entrance, a huge glass cube with simple Apple logo and nothing else, is visible to the street. But that is just enough to guide people to the Apple shrine downstairs.

The shop itself, as most Apple shops I've visited, is calm -- computers and gadgets are spread around the big space, and everything can be tried. There is a lot of Apple clerks to help you with anything, and for any bigger trouble you can always go to the genius bar for some advice.

The shop is an excellent place to check your emails, as every computer has internet access and nobody stops you using it. And it is open 24 hours a day.

The five stars are only for the building and atmosphere, because we didn't buy anything here (we already have all the ipods and computers we need). The building is a work of art, in daylight and at night, and it's constantly buzzing with activity (even late at night).

What to buy: An ipod for the flight back home?!

Roll up Roll up, thousands of dollars getting handed over at the line of tills in this massive Apple lovers paradise.

Found on the square outside Schwarz toyshop, a huge glass cube/square marks the entrance and unusually its underground. Funky, cool and trendy, as you'd expect from Apple. Even the staff are a young, cool and trendy bunch.

Place was doing a roaring trade when i was in!!

What to buy: Ipods, Nano's, Mac's and accesorries galore.

Just opened in May, 2006, this flagship store of APPLE products is open 24/7. The interesting design has everything underground with a 32' glass cube as its portal. Go and try out all the MAC laptops, i-pods, etc.

The Apple store in Soho is one of the biggest store in the company. Located in the upscale shopping district in Soho, the store features old architecture juxtapozed with the sleek and modern design of Apple Computers.

What to buy: I-Pods, my favorite I pod is the 20GB one, I feel is the best buy for only 299.00 you get to carry up to 5,000 songs and have your contact list from your address book all in the palm of your hand. The I pod is also a portable hard drive and it features games, an alarm clock and many otyher features, perfect for the train rides.

What to pay: Depends what you are looking for. Anywhere between 300 to 3,000 dollars

Apple Store is the coolest place to buy Macs, accessories and software in the big apple. The shop is very airy and filled with exciting Apple gadgets. Expect to find all the latest stuff there.

The first floor hosts most of the gadgets and on the second room you find Genius Bar, where you can ask for help to solve any technical issues you may have. There are also free seminars on the second floor.

You can also access Internet for free from the laptops on the showroom. Otherwise attentive staff does not bother you while you are reading emails or surfing the web.

What to buy: If you don't have an iPod already, consider buying one.

What to pay: The shop has the same price level as most of the Apple retailers.

Spring Street has got to be the best shopping street in the World. There is everything round there. For alternative types, for boutiques, high street and for makeup.

Down the road is Canal Street for dodgy cds and bags.

What to buy: wait till the seasonal sales and then you will go crazy!!

What to pay: the food in NY id not cheap is you want good healthy food but if you want a slice of pizza or a burger. Then it's cheap.

This is a store that sells nothing but Macs and Macintosh supplies and accessories.

It's great to browse in. Also, all of the Macs on display are connected to the internet, so you can check your e-mail or whatever.

There are special training workshops and presentations here, too, if you need to learn how to use Soundtrack, for example.
