There are three trams that run behind the hotels.

Mirage to Treasure Island Tram
This short tram only runs between the Mirage and Treasure Island. It runs every ten to fifteen minutes from 9:00 AM to 1:00 AM and is a great way to get from the Mirage Sportsbook to Treasure Island to see Mystere. Easier and quicker than walking and free to boot.

Mandalay Bay ~ Luxor ~ Excalibur Tram

This tram is free, runs from 7:00 AM to 10:30 PM and conveniently arrives every five to ten minutes. There is one thing to keep in mind. While the tram runs northbound to the Mandalay Bay, The Luxor and Excalibur, the southbound tram does not stop at The Luxor.

Bellagio ~ CityCenter ~ Monte Carlo Tram

This tram runs from 8:00 AM to 4:00 AM so there are only a few hours of the day, when you're probably sleeping or well into a marathon blackjack session and won't need it anyway.Trams come about every fifteen minutes

Each time I was on the tram there was either just myself and my friend or maybe another couple.

So how much does it cost? FREE!!! You just hop on and you're on your way.

Las vegas has quite a number of trams and monorails that are both free and not free. one of the free ones and one of the most popular is the Mandalay Bay to Excalibur tram that passes between the two hotels and also has a stop at the luxor and all these casino complexes are owned by the MGM Resorts International (I wonder why they don't add a line going to the MGM Grand and extend it to the City Center since all of these properties are owned by the MGM Resorts International). The line carries passengers from the major Tropicana - Las Vegas Boulevard intersection, via the Excalibur Hotel and Casino and Luxor Hotel to the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino at the southern end. The tram has a dual track and has 2 trains running to and from the following complexes and are free! The line starts at Tropicana - Las Vegas Boulevard intersection and ends at the Mandalay bay (a total of four stops).

The CityCenter (yes, one word) Tram goes from the Bellagio Hotel, Crystals and Monte Carlo

The Las Vegas Strip Trolley has extended its route to downtown Las Vegas. As part of its loop, the Las Vegas Strip Trolley will make stops in the following seven locations: Las Vegas Premium Outlets, World Market Center, Plaza Hotel and Casino, Golden Nugget, Lady Luck, Fremont Hotel and Casino and Neonopolis at the Fremont Street Experience.

The Las Vegas Strip Trolley offers the convenience of making stops and pick-ups at the doors of hotels instead of on the street. Stops are situated throughout the route for easy passenger accessibility. The Las Vegas Strip Trolley makes three stops alone at the Fremont Street Experience.

A one-time pass for the trolley costs $2.50. An all-day pass costs $6.50 with three-day and five-day passes also available. The trolley runs from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. daily. Traffic permitting, trolleys in the downtown loop run every 30 minutes.

Passengers may also transfer routes and take the trolley along the Strip and South Strip. The Strip route runs between the Stratosphere and Mandalay Bay, while the South loop runs between Mandalay Bay and South Coast. For more information, call 702-382-1404.

The tram car is operated by Mandalay, Luxor and Excalibur hotels and therefore it serves well to their customers and guests. The tram ride is very short but great to experience as well.

Getting to the tram station at the Excalibur is from the left entrance of the Excalibur skywalk.

At the Mandalay Bay, it gets a little bit crowded sometimes because the Tram waiting area is not spacious while at the Luxor's tram exit is nice. You can have great pictures of the Sphinx and the pyramid!

Although, this tram is limited between three fabulous hotels and casino's, it still offers a way to travel to and from these casino's when you are too tired or if the temperatures are high during the summer months. It only serves these casino's because they are the last on the south end of the strip.

Please keep this info in mind: If you start at the Excalibur main station, the monorail will take you directly to Mandalay Bay - about a 3-minutes trip.

If you start from Mandalay Bay, you will stop at the Luxor and then the Excalibur - about a 7-minutes trip.

It is in operation daily from 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., and trains leave every 3-7 minute.

There are many moving walkways, elevators and escalators in Las Vegas and I'm just referring to the outdoor ones in this tip.

Because there is so much car, shuttle, and especially cab traffic in Las Vegas in order to get safely from casino to casino you will have a number of the moving walkways, elevators and escalators to help you arrive at your destination.

One thing funny about some of the moving walkways and escalators is that they must have been designed by companies from England because they are on the "Wrong Side of the Road". We are used to going up on the left and down on the right, but in some instances it was reversed.

I also noticed while we were there that a number of down escalators were turned off and had read somewhere that they were attempting to save some $$$ during this economic downturn.

Walking on the strip requires you to take a number of foot bridges that go over Las Vegas Blvd. and the side streets. But...if you are at the Mirage or Treasure Island, you can ride on an automated tram that goes back and forth between these two hotels 24 hours a day.

Unless you've had your fifth Martini and like the speed of Mario Andretti, I wouldnt recommend cab service in Vegas..The monorail, trams and moving walkways will get you around the strip....They are safe, relaxing and get you there easily.

There are two free trams in Vegas, one running through the gardens between The Mirage and Treasure Island, the second running from Excalibur to the Mandalay Bay (southbound) and the Mandalay Bay, Luxor and Excalibur (northbound).
The latter is particularly useful as it is a fair trek along the strip between those hotels. You also get some fantastic views of the Sphinx at the front of the Luxor!

When it's hot outside, you should take advantage of the trams/monorails between hotels. MGM has one that goes all the way to Bally's (which is quite a ways). Luxor is connected to Excalibur. TI is connected to the Mirage.

You can do a lot (I mean A LOT) of walking in Vegas, assuming you don't plop in front of the first slot machine you see and stay there. Keep an eye out for moving walkways (connecting Luxor and Excalibur, for example), trams (connecting Excalibur and Mandalay Bay, with a stop at Luxor), and other niceties like that -- generally between casinos/hotels in the same management group. Taxis are plentiful although the cost can add up -- from one end of the strip to the other runs around $10 or so.

Once you get to vegas, every major hotel has it's own free valet(tip the kid bringing the car). So once your at the hotel...park it!!
Vegas traffic is really bad, try not to drive in the area of any hotel.
Walk, they are putting up a bunch of tram systems. Save your feet, take the tram. But it's really fun to walk around with a bunch of people.
