Last night while staying at Treasure Island Hotel & Casino, we came back to our room after a wedding to find a disturbing man leaving OUR ROOM with a cigarette in his mouth and a black, plastic laundry bag (FROM THE HOTEL SERVICE ROOM) filled with our valuables as well as some sort of keycard. When confronted, the man grabbed my husband, Jordon's neck and proceeded with force towards a door adjacent to our room. Security was currently ON OUR FLOOR due to a call regarding a "suspect man roaming the hall" 20 minutes prior to our arrival (THE SAME MAN). When we screamed for help, @TIvegas Security merely walked slowly towards our direction, allowing the man to continue attacking my husband and escape THROUGH THE SERVICE ELEVATOR ROOM which was located directly across from our hotel room. When security arrived minutes later, they then proceeded to tell us that the only thing they could do was to file a report with Risk Management "If we wanted them to". They also tried to talk us out of calling the police and filing a report through them saying it wouldn't be any better than their own report, which is a HUGE REDFLAG. We called the police OURSELVES and filed reports with both. Currently our story is under investigation and is an Assault & Robbery case.
This morning we went down to talk to management about compensation for this terrifying experience and were rudely addressed by manager Christopher Sheehan, who REFUSED to compensate for any of our stay beyond the "resort fees" of 24.99 per night. And when I was upset with this, Mr. Sheehan threatened to call security and have me "kicked out" for speaking loudly in front of guests!! An ironic position, when those guests should have the right to be informed of the safety in the hotel they were about to check into. An unreal response indeed.
I heard they were going to close this show and I guess they have. Kind of sad and end of an erra.
We have been in this casino several times and seem to have some pretty good luck when we did gamble. The Free live performance in front of the casino was pretty cool with huge live props such as a pirate ship that was very enjoyable.
Yet, I guess the times have changed and the casino thinks it needs to attract the younger crowds, well lets hope they are 21. It is called Sirens of TI® and begins with a 17th century clash between a group of beautiful, tempting sirens and a band of renegade pirates as stated on the web site. Ok, I was pretty content with the old pirate show instead of prancing women and hulky men who are supposedly doing battle…Yeah right whatever!
It is at least FREE to see, so why not. Located in front of Treasure Island Cove- nightly at 7:00 p.m., 8:30 p.m., 10:00 p.m., and 11:30 p.m.
So, I said, let's go and see the pirate show outside Treasure Island. Fair enough - along come the boats and ....goodness me, what are they wearing? I've never seen pirates looking like that. You know what, I just didn't get it - I certainly didn't like the way that the male stars were lured to their doom by the lap dancing style performers on the rival pirate ship. Men made to look gullible, which to be fair I am guilty of many a time. I don't know, look if I want to see a dance of the raunchy nature there are many better opportunities to see them in Las Vegas rather than on this stage, Couldn't help thinking that I would be better off at home with a nice cup of cocoa. Sin City? This was a step too far for me. By the time you read this the 'Siren' show may have changed but I'm sure the original sirens just sang a beguiling song, much more difficult to resist than this performance.
The Treasure Island Hotel and Casino describes its Sirens of TI show as a "modern musical-meets-action-movie spectacular". The shows features music, dancing, swordplay, acrobatics, pyrotechnics and even a full size ship sinking. The show is about 15 minutes long and features a group of scantily clad women fighting a band of pirates. What used to be the Treasure Islands Pirates Battle was replaced by the Sirens of TI show as they try to get a more sexy image for the hotel and casino. You might want to arrive early to get a good spot close to the action so there are no problems seeing over the crowds heads.
When:
Every night at 7:00 p.m., 8:30 p.m., 10:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.
Little note for anyone who has watched the movie 'Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous' the part where she is in the ship was actually shot in the Treasure Island Ship.
Great location on the Strip - just off I-15 (Spring Mountain exit). Pedestrian bridges to the Fashion Show Mall (Bloomingdales, Macy's, Nordstrom...) and to the Venetian. Adjacent to the Mirage. Rooms are large and clean - our room on the 11th floor had a stunning view of the Strip. They have a pool and exercise room (which we did not utilize during our stay), a spa, and they give your 2-for-1 coupons for the buffet and a cocktail at the restaurants.
LOTS of slots and table games - and I was lucky at this casino! :-) My only complaint is the same complaint I have about all the casinos - they are incredibly smoky. After 2 days, my sinuses were so clogged, I had to go to the pharmacy for medication. I wish they had better ventilation AND a non-smoking section...
The Sirens of Treasure Island is a 1 free 18-minute outdoor show located at the entrance of Treasure Island Hotel & Casino.
It is quite entertaining but not recommend for the kids.
Hours of operation: Open daily, 7:00, 8:30 and 10:00 p.m., weather permitting.
During fall and winter months, there is a show at 5:30 p.m. During spring and summer months, there is a show at 11:30 p.m.
Try to arrive at least 15 minutes before the show to secure a good spot along the rails.
This hotel located directly on the Las Vegas Strip and features ten on-site restaurants and six bar/lounges.
Walking distance to everything worthwhile: Fashion Show Mall is 5 minutes’ walk from Treasure Island Hotel & Casino and Sands Expo is less than 1 mile awa; right across the road (connected by skybridge) to the Palazzo Venetian.
This is yet another free show that you can see from the strip. The Sirens of TI is shown outside Treasure Island. There are four shows an evening 5.30 pm (only autum/winter), 7 pm, 8.30 pm, 10 pm and 11.30 pm (only spring/summer). People start to get their places to view the show from up to an hour before it starts, so don't think you can 'just catch it' while heading somewhere else!!
The story running through the show is a ship of pirates are lured off course by Sirens. The show is full of singing and dancing (some rather raunchy), there are pyrotechnics and connons of fire. It's a great show, worth going to see!
Part two of my treasure Island two part Tips since VT has only 5 pictures max per tip.
The Magnificent treasure Island is a 2,885 room hotel and casino located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada, USA and is connected by tram to The Mirage. The resort and casino opened in 1993 and originally intended to attract families with features such as a large video arcade and staged pirate battles nightly in "Siren's Cove" in front of the casino entrance on the Strip (Featuring the Sirens of Treasure Island free show, This show, taking place on a 4 football sized water filled field, brings the fantasy of Treasure Island where you can experience it up close. The show, a 12 minute story of Sirens luring men to their cove, makes use of music, dancing, singing and a high level of energy that brings you even closer to the action. The show runs four times a day, at 5:30, 7, 8:30 and 10 P.M.) another famous show here is Cirque De Soleil which cost $95. this hotel is evolving into the hot spot for adults in Las Vegas. Gone are the distinctive skull-and-crossbones outdoor sign and the indoor pirate theme. Fronting the resort is a huge body of water -- now called Siren's Cove instead of Buccaneer Bay -- that is the crux of the new TI. Instead of pirates and sailors duking it out, sexy sirens lure pirates into the cove in a kitschy show with pop music.

One of the free shows in Las Vegas is the show where there is fight of Pirates at the front of the Treasure Island. After, watching the eruption of the volcano, which is another free show at the Strip, we proceeded to the front of the Treasure Island. The pirates show usually start in the evening around 8 pm.
Stand close to the fence as sometimes it gets over crowed and you won't be able to see the performance of the pirates swinging from one rope to the other.
The show sometimes get cancelled if the weather is bad- just a little bit of shower? The show is cancelled for safety of the performers.
Another free attraction with a lot of spectators - the pirates' show in front of the Treasure Island Hotel.
Sexy girls pirates fighting grumpy old boys pirates with canons, dancing, huge ship sailing around.
The way the whole show is set up is more interesting than the show itself. It's pure Vegas but a little silly.
Every 90 min between 7 p.m. and 11.30 p.m. See it once, but once is enough.
Several times each evening, the Pirates fight the British Army outside the hotel 'Treasure Island'. The British always lose! My daughter's favourite bit is to wait around at the end, when the British ship is raised back up to the surface (it sinks during the show) and to see the very wet captain, usually still in positio and standing to attention!
The show is cancelled if the wind is too strong, and this decision is usually only made at the last minute, so it can be frustrating to stand in a perfect position for 30 minutes or so, to no avail. But it is fun to watch!
The Ladies of Treasure Island put on a good show while going up against a ship-load of pirates. If you are a guy you will really like this, these girls are a little lacking in clothing department but cute none-the-less. This is Las Vegas, all in good fun.
Hours: Daily @ 5:30p/7:00p/8:30p/10:00p
Admission is free.
We pass by TI usually while getting to other places on the Strip. Last time I finally went in to do a bathroom break, though. :) However, the ship is kind of neat to walk by. I've never gone to see the show but it's always at ackward times. Being only at night we're kind of busy doing other things.
However, my unique tip would be to visit the plants/gardens on the corner of the strip. The corner where have TI, Palazzo, Wynn, and the Mall. In those gardens I saw some beautiful flowers and birds. I watched a hummingbird feed for like 20 minutes. It was really nice on such a plastic, touristy Strip.
