Chinatown: Excellent cheap food in Chinatown
The Chinatown in Las Vegas, made up of strip malls, is located surprisingly close to the Strip. It is only about a 5-10 minute taxi or bus ride west from the Strip on Spring Mountain Road. The Chinatown Plaza is one of the strip malls that is worth a stop. Here you can find some excellent Chinese restaurants that serve delicious food that are cheaper compared to restaurants on the Strip.

Applebee's: Applebee's was cool
This is really a tip for anyone staying in or near the vicinity of the Tahiti Lodge Aparthotel - head for Applebee's on E Warm Springs Road. Not really walking distance but a short drive away, about 5 mins. Service was good here and it's a little more upmarket than most of teh diner chains we encouneres. When we were in US we ate at many a diner such as this simply because of the value. Applebee's is I suppose a mid price diner, not the cheapest but not the most expensive. We enjoyed the meal here which ended around 9:30 pm before we headed of for a 3 1/2 hour drive to our next stop. I asked for lots of coffee refills before we left.

John Mull's Meats & Road Kill Grill: Best Barbeque~
Do you every watch that show Diners, Drive-In's, & Dives? We do and this place was featured on it. So whenever we visit Vegas we like to try out something new. Barbeque is my husbands favorite and as it turns out, this is his favorite place now. Great food!!!
Located in a neighborhood behind his house. Mr. Mull is a butcher by trade, then he started catering, and now he has a facility where folks can come and enjoy barbeque and eat onsite.

John Mull's Road Kill Grill: Yum - Road Kill!
This is a bit of a strange place. It's really a butcher shop but they have a few items that they sell to go, like sandwiches and dinners. They do have out door seating. I had the pulled chicken sandwich. Loaded with BBQ sauce and it comes with a Sind of more BBQ sauce, mild or spicy. I got the spicy. Good but really hot. I also ordered a side of potato salad and soda. Not bad for lunch. It is in a residential area. No other businesses.

The Egg and I: Cute place with great food
A very small restaurant with indoor and some outdoor seating. The wait staff were very good and friendly. Locals have there favorites and as I waited for heard several ask for particular waitresses area. They all seemed very attentive to me. Menu is set up like a newspaper. Some yummy sounding choices that I would go back to try. I ordered the breakfast burrito and my friend ordered the Eggs Benedict. We really enjoyed both choices.
They have a cute and uniques way to let the wait staff know you need them. There is a flip picture of a black egg with as smiley face and a yellow egg wi a frown. If you need your waitress, flip the picture on the small stand to yellow.
Favorite Dish: The breakfast burrito was big and delicious.- Business Travel

Bachi Burger: Great specialty burgers!
This is a small little burger place but made famous on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives (Food Network). Super friendly wait staff gave us enough time to decide and was very helpful with answering questions. I ordered the Miyagi-san's grass fed Wagyu burger. The burger is prepared with fried egg, furikake, chili mayo, bacon and onion rings. By the way, furikake is a mixture of sesame seeds and dried kelp. I had to ask. This mixture is sprinkled on top of the fried eggs, which sits on top of the bacon, which is all on the the burger. Stacked off with the onion rings and bun. Made for a good looking and good tasting burger. Only disappointment was I ordered the onion rings on the side but they came on the burger. Burger was perfectly cooked and juicy.
I also ordered the sweet potato fries with a nice tangy dippy sauce. Very good. We were too stuffed for dessert.
Favorite Dish: Everything was great as a combination. I am parties to sweet potato fries but the burger was amazing!- Family Travel

It was OK. Food was not as good as i hoped for, drinks were waaay too strong (maybe its a + for somebody). Service wasn't bad and the location was great. The patio is overlooking Sirens of TI (Treasure Island Hotel & Casino Pirate Show).

Rincon Criollo: Authentic Cuban food
This small "hole in the wall" restaurant serves up authentic Cuban food - affordable and delicious - decor and atmosphere are very low key - feels like a neighborhood hangout. It's on Las Vegas Blvde., north of The Stratosphere, not far from the Pawn Stars' shop. You can take the Deuce Bus, or a city bus to get there easily. Dress casually.
Favorite Dish: Ropa Vieja - simple, tasty, filling.- Budget Travel

Denny's: Breakfast
I have written a couple of reviews on Denny's restaurants including the one in Las Cruses, New Mexico. It has become one of my favorite breakfast stops when I'm on the road. Leaving Las Vegas after the Travbuddy Reunion meet-up, we made a breakfasts top at Denny's before the 8 hour road trip back to Las Vegas. I normally order their supreme sizzling breakfast platter. It is a meal in itself included in is small pieces of potatoes, sliced chillies, cheese, roman tomatoes, spinach, and scrambled eggs. Nothing like their hot cup of tea. Comes with honey and lemon. Definitely a better alternative to McDonald's.
I recommend this is especially if you ar eon the raod with your family. The price is right, the food is great and the service is commendable. Like McDonald's, I have found that certain Denny's have better interiors and ambiance than others. This location in Las Vegas was a little bit of a disappointment for me, compared with my Las Cruces experience. My platter was a little different, perhaps because I had anticipated it too much, prior to sitting down.

Cheap buffet tickets
All along the strip, you will see something called "Tix4Tonite". Whilst they primarily sell discount tickets for shows, they also sell discount tickets for the buffets of the different casinos (typically a saving of $3-5 per buffet compared to what you would pay for a ticket in the casino itself), but when you add this up for every member of your party and the number of days you are there, the savings can add up. They are also happy to recommend which casinos have the best food!

Quiznos: Budget Sandwiches
Quiznos is the second most popular budget sandwhich store after Subway (Subway has more international franchises than Quiznos). They made the "toasted sandwhich" a byword that even first ranked subway copied it. Like subway, quiznos offers a variety of sandwhich options like Classic Italian or Classi Cuban, The Tradtitional and more varieties and they come in both 6" and 12" sizes and other menus include assorted salads and soups. They have a branch here at the Mc Carran International Airport Concourse D.
Favorite Dish: why what else but their toasted subs, the 12" variety and my favorite is either the classic italian or the philly cheesesteak and it costs $ 12.99 for one 12" toasted submarine to fill you up before a flight.- Backpacking

El Jefe: Local Favorite!
The food here is sinfully good!
First off, the chips they bring you ae absolutely delicious...crispy, yet moist, and comes with 2 kinds of salsa...a fresh pico de gallo and a salsa verde.
One of the best appetizers on the menu: Crab dip. I have never tasted anything so decadent in my life...and it comes with large slices of buttery french bread to dip it in.
Favorite Dish: I had a recommendation on the shrimp enchiladas...so good! The sauce is sweet, and locals tend to order 2 portions of rice (skip the beans) and mix it in with the extra sauce...go very, very hungry, or don't go at all!
