Soy Restaurant: Modern Chinese Cuisine 2

by machomikemd Written Jul 30, 2013

Part two of my tips with more pictures of the food.

there are a proliferation of Chinese Restaurants and Food Stalls around Dubai as Chinese Food seems to be the Most Popular International Cuisine in Dubai. But some of the dishes at the Chinese Restaurants have a peculiar taste as pork is not allowed in Most Dubai Restaurants due to Islamic Dietary Laws and we know that Many Chinese Dishes have pork components in them and they are replaced by chicken and beef, hence the peculiar taste.

Soy Restaurant has 3 branches in Dubai and this is their branch at the Dubai Mall, it serves modern chinese cuisine with some fusion with other asian dishes as well.

    according to their website:

SOY! Offering mouth watering Chinese dishes done the SOY way. Located in Dubai Mall, Ibn Batutta Mall and JBR, you are never far from SOY. Allow our friendly staff to take you through a yum journey of unforgettable flavors in a fun ambience. Got a big appetite to satisfy? Pick your favorite ingredients and try the Big Bowl while interacting with out chef at a live cooking station as he prepares a fresh, wholesome meal for you, the way you want it. So if it’s Chinese, it’s got to be SOY!

SOY is a modern dining concept where style is a way of life! Set amidst serene water features and whispering bamboos in a classical Chinese Pagoda, SOY is located in the unique China Garden of the region’s largest themed mall – Ibn Batutta Mall and at The Walk - Jumeirah Beach Residence. This trendy restaurant serves authentic Chinese and Thai cuisines and the courteous staff ensures a memorable dinning experience whether it be in doors or out doors in the lush China Garden or at the terrace in Jumeirah Beach Residence, overlooking views of the endless ocean.

A trendy Chinese restaurant located in the serene china garden at ibn batutta mall and by the breathtaking endless ocean in JBR Walk and Dubai Mall. Dine indoors or al fresco while unleashing your taste buds on a truly delectable culinary journey of the far-east.

Opens: 10:00 am to 10:00 pm Sunday to Thursday
10:00 am to 12:00 am Friday to Saturday

Favorite Dish: : the list is extensive and like what I've said, after a more than 2 weeks of middle eastern food around the middle east, I was Craving for Asian Food hence eating at this restaurant.

the selections include assorted dimsums like har gau, siu mai, spicy mushroom at AED 28 to 40 per order, duck with hoi sin suace at AED 40, Soy Fried Rice at AED 30, Lemon Buttered Shrimps at AED 45, Sweet and Sour Fish (grouper-hammour) at AED 50 and more.

    Soy: Excellent Chinese restaurant

The Soy Restaurant is part of a group of restaurants that form the "China Gardens" at the China Court of the Ibn Battuta Mall. Although it's part of a mall, it is very quiet and gives a proper restaurant atmosphere rather than that of a food court. It actually looks like a classic Chinese house with the typical roof on it.

The waiters are very friendly, the food is very good, but it is quite expensive for Dubai standards. Still I would say it is definitely worth visiting.

Favorite Dish: Fire pot Chicken soup and Chilli Chicken
