Miscellaneous: You could just store your luggage in some of the City Lockers. On the first day, we used this and picked up our luggage at night after sightseeing and before checking in to the hotel. This way we did not have to mind about carrying all the stuff with us.
You don't need a key, just a code that you make up yourself so no worries about loosing the keys :)
Hope that helps you guys! Have fun in Barcelona :)
Luggage and bags: when out and about in barcelona it a good idea to have a rucksack with you. not only to put all your water and sunscreen in but to put all your purchases in, it is too dangerous to walk around with them in carrier bags
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: i suggest comfy shoes as you will do a lot of walking
Photo Equipment: bring a digital camera
Luggage and bags: Took me so long to upload this and will write details later on what would be ideal to put into your luggage for Barcelona
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: shoes, the most comfortable shoes, flip-flaps.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Shampoo, Hairbrush, for us ladies, bits of makeup (not much needed during holidays) and any medication would be advisable
Photo Equipment: Your digtal camera is sufficient.
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Will write later on these subject
Miscellaneous: Will write on this later.
Luggage and bags: Good to bring a bag that goes across the shoulder for extra safety, or many people had rucksacks worn at the front. Personally, I had no bother, but best to wear bags like this if you want to feel safer as there are supposedly many pickpockets about.
Luggage and bags: Since we only spent a weekend there, we didn't need to bring much. I just had my backpack, a money belt and small purse, and a messenger bag
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Summer clothes and a bathing suit, and comfortable shoes (I wore my black platform slides). I also brought a pair of plastic flip-flops.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Your own prescriptions, and any toiletries you normally use. Our hotel provided soap and shampoo, but what is provided depends on the hotel/hostel you stay at.
Photo Equipment: Your own camera and film. If you run out, you can probably buy some from a store.
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Swimsuit for the beach, and sunscreen if you're going to be outside a lot.
Luggage and bags: its a bonus when you have luggage that fits in a locker at the Sants station (the maximum size, that fits in a locker is: 0,3 by 0,75 meter) Then you can f.e. put your luggage at the station, while hangin around in the city without having to wear that backpackege the whole time (and you can sleep safely on the Barcelona beach, without the risk that they rob your luggage while sleeping!)
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: June, july, august: no coats or warm sweaters are needed.
Miscellaneous: Most travellers we have met take LEGO with them. We still havent figured out why that is, but probably they want to rebuilt those Gaudi Buildings. If you want to join in i can recomment the following LEGO-boxes: 1. The brown Lego&Gaudi box (containing the four pre-fab made towers of the Sagrada Familia) 2. The yellow-red '70s LEGO-box (containing great grey LEGO-street grounds, on wich you can build your Gaudi-buildings, the special edition (4,50 $ extra) also has the 8-way street-pattern! 3. LEGO-streetcar box (containing 3 police cars and a few civilian cars, including LEGO-motors to drive up these cars. - the motors of the policecars are -somehow- not availlable yet)
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Weather in Barcelona is mild and sunny during the winter, but in summer it can get really hot and humid. In Autumn it is often very rainy.
Miscellaneous: I am sure you will buy a lot of things in Barcelona, so leave enough room in your case or simply buy a new one in Barcelona. This is a picture of the passerelle that connects la Rambla with a shopping mall in the port.
Luggage and bags: If you intend to take the metro from the airport to where you're staying, I would advise you to use a backpack instead of carrying a luggage cos the Barcelona metro system is very unfriendly for luggage travellers!!
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Hiking
Miscellaneous: For non-Spanish speakers, it is extremely advisable to carry a little Spanish language book with you! A lot of people in Barcelona still do not speak much English even though they receive millions of tourists each year.
