I booked my flight through Delta Airlines who partners with Korean Air. So, I'm not sure if I could have had a better price direct with Korean Air. Next time, I would check it out. I must say, I was impressed with this airline. Airplane food is never great but their food was decent. Plentiful amount of drink was available and snacks are provided in between the meals.

The plane we took going to South Korea had video monitors built right into the seat in front of you. A selection of about a dozen current feature films were available to choose from along with trip info & map, short films and documentaries and some recorded television shows. Really liked this! My ear buds headset for my Palm Pilot worked when I plugged it into the armrest to listen to the movie. On the return flight to Los Angeles, we must have boarded an older plane because we didn't have the video monitors on the way home.

All in all, Korean Air was a pretty good experience.

From Manila Philippines take the Philippine Airlines direct flight going to Seoul Korea. The cheapest price for economy class would be 616.00 USD. The schedule of flight going to Seoul depends on the reservation. From Seoul Incheon International Airport you can take a bus ride to the destination you want.

Although its been ages since I've had asiana airlines, i still wan to do at tip for historical purposes. Asiana is one of the two main airlines based in Korea, Asiana was established on 17 February 1988 and started operations in December 1988 with flights to Busan. It was formed by the Kumho Asiana Group (formerly Kumho Group) as part of the South Korean government's policy to create a second flag carrier and was originally known as Seoul Air International. Asiana operates to 12 Korean destinations and 73 international destinations in 17 countries. Their international hub is Incheon and their domestic hub is Gimpo

The new electronic seats of Prestige Class are easy to use and are remarkably comfortable providing various positions and customized adjustments. Each seat has a power outlet for laptops and a new Audio & Video on Demand system (AVOD) that is incredible! The sound system is excellent and AVOD offers over 40 feature films, 60 short films, 16 music channels, and 55 music albums. The system is installed in every seat back and allows playback and/or a quick search of music and movies with a “touch screen” feature.

Each guest receives a pair of Korean slippers for the flight and rather than a traditional amenity kit, personal items like razor, sleep masks, toothbrush, etc. Korean dishes featured the popular “Bibimbap” offered with minced beef, vegetables, sesame oil and Korean hot pepper paste (which i did not put since it is very Spicy!). Additional Korean fare included Korean style porridge or spiced fish cakes with chili dipping sauce.

This is one of the nicest airports I have ever been in! Whether it is the place to get a massage after a long flight, or the bright and open feeling of it, it is just a very friendly airport to fly in and out of, even for kids. There are at least 2 children's areas where kiddies can pass the time, and plenty of places for Duty Free Shopping, so Mom and Dad can take home a bottle of Soju after having to deal with the kids on a long flight....

A lot of Airlines fly into Seoul. Since April 2001 they have a new Airport. All International flights moved from Gimpo (or Kimpo) Airport to the new Incheon Airport. I have seen a lot of Airports but thisone is really the most modern Airport I have ever seen. The best way to arrive into Incheon is Korean or Asiana.
-x-x-x-x- From Incheon Airport into the City I would take a Bus. There are different types. The regular line which serves most points downtown cost KRW 5'500 and there are also Luxerious Buses up to KRW 15'000.

You gotta fly! It's a long trip from the U.S. - about thirteen hours in the air if I remember correctly.
The subway system is awesome - timely, safe, quick. Seoul is like any other large city and many things can be reached by hoofing it. Walking was always one of my favorite ways to get around, that way you get to know the area you are staying in better, can meet the Korean people and do lots of shopping!

Right now Kimpo Airport is where all international flights land but the brand new airport will open at the end of March to make way for all the flights that will be arriving for the 2002 World Cup. Kimpo is a little old right now and quite cramped in the baggage and flight check in area: we spent a lot of time in there...

At this point, I can't recommend Asiana Airlines one bit. Read my travelogue for details on why. I had heard some good things about this airline and it was the cheapest airfare. Even without the delays, storms and disasters, I found the regular in flight service to be lacking. I am curious to hear what other people think of this airline and if my experience is a unique one (hopefully it is!).

Gimpo International Airport, a gateway to Seoul, connects the capital city with other countries in the world. About 34.65 million passengers use the Airport annually, with an average of 100 thousand passengers and 620 flights a day, one flight every minute.

Korea has established aviation agreement with as many as 53 countries around the world, and as of May, 1999, a total of 71 routes were in service by 30 airlines from 15 countries. As the Gimpo Airport has reached the full capacity, the government has already started constructing a new international airport in Yeongjongdo, Incheon, to function as a hub in Asia, for a daily capacity of 270 thousand passengers and 920 flights.

Buses and taxis are major means of transportation to and from the Airport, which is in the western outskirts of Seoul. Limousine service between the Airport and major hotels in the City are convenient and available at reasonable prices.
There are seven passenger terminals and three freight terminals in Seoul. The passenger terminals include the Gyeongbu (Seoul-Busan), Yeongdong and Honam Express Bus Terminals in Gangnam, Dong-Seoul (East Seoul) Integrated Terminal, Sangbong Terminal, Nambu (North) Terminal, Seobu (West) Terminal and Yongsan Tourists Terminal, where buses bound for all the directions in Korea depart incessantly. Freight terminals include Dongbu Freight Terminal, Hankook Truck Terminal and Seobu Truck Terminal.

The Incheon airport in Seoul is big and modern,

There is a train travelling from the airport to Seoul Station and the trip takes around 45 minutes.

Korean Air is one the national airline of Korea. They link Korea with many cities around the world. Their service is very great. I recommended to use this airline to travel to Korea.

By Plane! Several major airlines fly from LAX to Seoul. Asiana and Korean Air both offer non-stop flights. I chose to United (I'm a mileage slave what can I say) so I flew through Tokyo.
