Top Cloud Restaurant, Seoul

Top Cloud by The Shilla is on the 33rd Floor of Jongno Tower. It boasts of floor-to-ceiling windows that offer a great view of Jongno, Bukhansan and Namsan.

It has two segments - the Grill (reservations required) and the Bar. Food is fusion. There's a live band which plays from 7:30 pm - 11:30pm and is pretty decent.

The Bar opens from 11:50 am - 12 am, and has lunch (11:50 am - 2 pm) and dinner (6 pm - 8:30 pm) buffets.

Parking is complimentary for three hours at Basement 3.

Top Cloud is unique, to say the least. It is on the 33th floor of a 24 floor building in downtown Seoul (Jungno area, near Jungno-3(sam)-ga). The actual building is Samsung Securities and the restaurant is in a ring balanced on three pillars that extend above the 24th floor. The view is unreal, especially from the bathroom! Imagine a floor-to-ceiling window with an unobstructed view of the city as you wash your hands in the massive sink in the middle of the lavatory.

Favorite Dish: When I went there it was just for a drink (Heineken, 10,000 won [8USD] each) so no idea of how the food is. I imagine it's great, though. Bring a high-limit credit card if you entertain here...the prices are sky-high.

For the money you get attentive, attractive and English-speaking service, though.

The Top Cloud is an amazing restaurant. Whether it's in the grill (a-la-carte) with view to the North or the Bar (semi-buffet) viewing South, be sure to have an experience of a very special kind.
Sitting on the 33rd floor, both parts offer excellent lunch and dinner menus for a reasonable price.
The semi-buffet at the Bar is various, offering Western, Japanese and Korean style selections and a main dish of your choice.
A great experience!

I can´t say my favorite restaurant in Seoul, because there are so many good ones ...

When I visited KBS (the korean broadcasting system) the german section of Radio Korea International (it is the overseas service of KBS) invited me into a restaurant which is located next to KBS. We ate Bulgugi and noodles with chili souce. It was delicious.

When you want excellent food, good atmosphere and a panoramic view to Downtown Seoul I would recommend you to go to the restaurant 'Top cloud', which is located in the top of 'Millenium building'. Its the tax office in Seoul. I was there at the sunset.
As I said, the restaurants offers a good view to Seoul, specially in the evening and night. It offers music played live (piano and cello).

Favorite Dish: I had a selmon salad.
