Pavillion Shopping Centre, Kuala Lumpur

There are just so many giant, modern super malls in Kuala Lumpur, it's really hard to differentiate between them. They are all big, well stocked with every kind of shop and restaurant and they all seem equally good. The Pavilion is just as big as the perhaps more famous Suria, and also has an impressive atrium that is often displays sports cars or other affectations of rampant capitalism. It's not as central or easily reached, though.

Pavilion Kuala Lumpur is a beautiful shopping center on Jalan Butik Bintang. There are over 500 shops and the Parkson Department store all of which are separated into 7 shopping areas such as the Couture Pavilion which has the high end shops, the Fashion Avenue with all the clothes shops etc.

I really love going to Pavilion and easily spend many hours in there looking through the shops. At the main entrance to Pavilion is the tallest Liuli Crystal Fountain in Malaysia. Of course I much prefer shopping centers now to markets etc and I found quite a few things to buy here such as a beautiful handbag from the Coach store, perfume from Burberry, plus clothes and more handbags from Parksons.

There is also a good shop called Travel For All which sells items for travelling so finally Gary found his Hyper Gear waterproof bags he had been looking everywhere for. There are also plenty of bars restaurants etc just outside of the shopping center for having rest breaks or leaving husbands!

It is a great idea to bring the Japanese Shopping theme into Malaysian shopping mall. This has allowed shoppers to shop on Tokyo Street to by Japanese goods. The stalls offer Japanese food, clothes, bon sai, cookies, ice-stick, time pieces, small household item, Japanese tea and etc. Spare to spend your time here, you will learn some Japanese culture by Malaysian staff who greet you with Japanese and talk to you in our languages.

What to buy: Daiso Store - all items are RM5 a piece

2nd time in KL and staying at the Prince Hotel, the nearest shopping centre was the Pavillion. This is a real modern shopping centre with just about every shop you can think of. There's an array of nice restaurants just outside at ground level and a fantastic fountain at the entrance.

By the way it is the Tallest Liuli Crystal Fountain in Malaysia endorsed by The Malaysia Book of Records. That's pretty impressive.

The Pavilion caters to home-proud owners looking for all manner of house items and deco, art and designer furnishings.

It is also a treasure trove of international and local cuisines including fine food outlets such as Beard Papa, Bombay Spice, Breadtalk, Crystal Jade Kitchen, Dragon-i, Dumpling, GNC, Ichiban Boshi and the very popular J.CO Donuts & Coffee.

It is a shopping complex rather than a departmental store. Recently opened in KL, it is the latest addition to the overly crowded Golden Triangle.
Strategically located at the very corner of Jalan Raja Chulan & Jalan Bukit Bintang, this 7th storey complex is the new house to all the branded items outlets such as Padini, CK, Georgio Armani etc.
Parkson is the anchor tenant & Tangs is the sub-anchor tenant. Other outlets are Harvey Norman, Times book store, Baskin & Robin cafe, Mercato Supermarket, Gourmet Emporium etc.
I went for a walk-thru in this huge complex on 09 Dec 2007 just to get a bit taste of it. It is very tiring...and to tell you the truth, I'm yet to finish it.

What to buy: Ha...ha...ha... branded items off course. But I was only browsing....so it just window shopping

What to pay: Minimum purchase of RM100 give you a 2 hours free parking...Well that could be the minimum then

A new upscale shopping mall in the golden triangle! Located on Jalan Bukit Bintang (Bintang Walk), this latest edition in KL's shopping scene is sure to make shopping more fun in KL! It is opposite Starhill. If you are into designer goods, this is the place for you. Level 1 has a wide variety of restaurants!

What to pay: Higher than average

This shopping centre is huge and has a variety of shops. Many shops international quality. One wing is dedicated to the exclusive brands and one to restuarants...i recall lots of levels and wings.
