Beach Shacks, Goa

There are lots of beach shacks on the beach at Candolim - however when we visited Goa it was in April -right at the end of the tourist season - a lot of the shacks have shut up shop and lliterally disappear away leaving just the beach behind. Bobby's was one of the few left.

All the seats look out to the ocean - you can sit at a litttle candlelit table and watch the sun go down and the twinklilng lights out in the sea.

Favorite Dish: We really enjoyed the vegetable curry with rice - I think it has coconut in it. the portion sizes are just right. The aloo gobi was also great

There are plenty of beach shacks selling food and drink along the beach in Calangute. The deal, here, is that you have to buy a drink and/or food from a shack whenever you opt to take up residence on one of their sun beds. One that I frequented a lot during my time here was called Friend's Corner where the staff are nice and chatty, so you get to know them a little more each time you visit. The shacks are made out of bamboo and palm leaves with sand floor. Food is actually very good with some very good chips, sandwiches and other snack food.

We have been visiting Goa for the last four years and just keep going back to this Beach Shack.If you want good food and service at an excellent price visit The Shining Star on Baga Beach.The Shining Star specials are wonderful and tasty dishes.

Favorite Dish: Shing Star Special Vege or Chicken dishes....mouth wateringly good!

looking out onto lovely sandy beach and blue sea this small adilic beach shack though dwarft by the giant grand looking ones the food that is served is like food from the gods the tasets torment the tonge in a very easey going atmosphere very good place to stop and eat has food to rival the very best in the area of candolim

Favorite Dish: try dam alo cashmere or even his sweet and sour

Not very often mentioned but this little shack near the Calangute steps is possibly the best shack on the North Goan beach. The food is sumptious and the service is wonderful, Kamil will not let you even pour your own beer or move your table. When we return every year all the lads come out to welcome us as does Mama who hovers around doing massages and cheap jewellry. You can spend a whole day there being pampered, fed, looked after for under a tenner.

Favorite Dish: All the food is delicious, try the vegetarian ones or fish dishes.

Located on Calangute and Baga Beach stretch the shacks are amazing for local goan food. But for the not so experimental you geteverything from Indian, Continental, Chinese to local Goan cusine. So a visit to these shacks is a must and prices are very reasonable.

A tip : To know which shack serves the best food, just look around and see which shack has the most tables occupied. That one serves the best food obviously.

Favorite Dish: Prawn Fried Rice

Not much to say about this one apart from that its based on Vagator beach and its very small!! We spent a day on the beach here and went to this shack which was great for a snack!! we had a toastie and some chips and they really looked after us!

The shacks on the beach open early in the morning until quite late at night serving food and drinks. The norm is if there are people eating and drinking at them then they will stay open. Try the seafood as it is more than likely been caught that day and the prices are so cheap it's unreal.

Best sea food available at Beach shacks at reasonable price. One can enjoy good food & drinks and keep watching the sea.
