It’s hard to find a good but cheap hotel in Paris, a city that is expensive anyway. This time we stayed at Hotel International Paris for no more than 70e per night.
It is a 2 star hotel, definitely old and it shows but we didnt regret it as we usually dont want fancy hotels but a cheap comfortable and cheap place to sleep.
First of all there is friendly and helpful front desk, the gave us directions and answered every question, they also called 2 taxi for us the last night when we had to be at the airport at 4:30am and there was no bus/metro running. Everyone was speaking english.
The hotel is located 2' away from a metro station (ok, no surprise in Paris but you’ll be at city center in less than 5’), there are plenty of cafes and cheap food places near the hotel and a small grocery/market 1' away.
The rooms are old but very clean (especially the bathroom which is the most important, they can add a curtain at the bathroom though) and we had room service every day. The room was small but I have seen smaller in Paris.
The decoration was very simple, small closets, a small table and a TV with local channels (who comes to Paris to watch TV?). The bed good, the only complain was that there was no safe box inside the room.
The hotel was under renovation and one day there was no lift so we had to walk up/down 6 floors. But the people that were working tried not to disturbed the customers. The lift is really tiny by the way we were using it in groups of 2 every time
There is free wifi but the signal was poor at 6th floor, it was ok at the lobby of course.
They charge 7,5e for breakfast but we preferred to try the beautiful cafes all over the city instead.
Directions: 2' away from Goncourt metro station
