Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur

This is my favourite hotel in KL. The Traders Hotel is situated in a great spot, not far from the Twin Towers and not too far from the shopping district.

We stayed in a Club Room and had full use of the Club facilities including special buffet breakky every day overlooking the Twin Towers. The Sky Bar was awesome and as you can see, I forgot to get pictures of our room so plenty of photos here of the view overlooking the towers from the Sky Bar.

We booked through booking.com and the Traders Hotel scores a massive 9.1 on that site, so you know you will be staying somewhere good. Plus you have the additional comfort that you can cancel the booking at the last minute if you find somewhere better. Anyway, I recommend staying at the Traders.

Absolutely worst bar in town, with waiters are extremely not pedantic when serving customers especially people who always patron this stupid joint! It's no doubted located strategically in-around KLCC but wrong team of unenthusiastic waiters especially one short Asian Chinese or maybe a Vietnamese with an annoying attitude!!! When there were not many customers we waited to be served with our choice of drinks 30 minutes after the order taken, more so our side orders from the menu arrived only 75 minutes after our orders were taken...amazing but totally cheesed-off with this annoying character with his irresponsibility and rudeness. I will never want to go to this joint, next time stick to Luna Bar or Rooftop Bar in KL. Such an attitude!!!

The Traders Hotel is an amazing hotel with fantastic views of the Petronas Twin towers, from both the swimming pool and immediately outside the hotel.
When I visited KL in October 2010, their was allot of road works outside the hotel, even though I did not hear the the digging of the road from inside the hotel it made the area look bad.
Its only like a 10 minute walk through a KLCC park to the Petronas Towers.
I have never seen so much food at breakfast in my whole life, their was so much variety spread across a huge room.
I would recommend that if you are leaving the table to pick up some more food, that you leave something at the table, to tell the waiting staff that you have not left the breakfast table other wise they will clean your table in double quick time before you arrive back at your table with another pile of food.
The Traders Hotel was more expensive than other hotels in KL but you are paying for the view of the Petronas Towers.
The Traders Hotel is a 10 minute walk through the KLCC park to both the city tour bus and the underground station is based inside the KLCC shoping mall/Petronas Towers.

We stayed 7 days at the Traders and found it close and convienant to everything. Staff where very helpfull.

Unique Quality: Cleaniness of the hotel and rooms and being so close to the hop on hop off bus and train system.

Stayed here for 3 nights and had a great time! Rooms are great with nice bathrooms. We paid extra for a Park View Room with views of the Petronas Towers (well worth it!). Staff are really friendly, especially the concierges. Great views from pool area/Sky Bar. Nice gym. Nice food in restaurant just opposite reception (good evening buffet).

This was the last night in Kl after a very hectic trip to assist Diabetes Association of Cambodia. No better awaited than at the Traders to the tired travellers heart. Very professional welcome, pleasant and sophisticated ambience, fantastic views from the room, excellent service at breakfast...
all made the stay a memorable one.
The FF rate was very agreeable to.. Corporate clients can get a very good rate

Unique Quality: Right near KLCC with view of it from the room.
Efficiency unmet elsewhere
Decoration very pleasing to the eyes
Comfortable bed and new world design of bathroom with plenty of accessories

We stayed here courtesy of the conference we attended nearby. We really enjoyed the accommodation and proximity to everything. Walking distance to Twin Towers and shopping malls, and easy taxi rides anywhere else. Rooms are spacious and clean, restaurant is great, and rooftop pool has magnificent views to the towers, especially at night.

The hotel is a strange one to start with - you have to go up to the 1st Floor to reach reception. Was given a room overlooking the Petronas Towers as on our honeymoon. Excellent view, even with the rain lashing down.

The nice touch was the rose petals sprinkled liberally around the room and a rose petal bath awaiting us on our arrival - my new wife declared it out of bounds to me!

Unique Quality: The roof top is worth spending time relaxing from travel or sightseeing - views are great. Only downsides are the pool itself closes at 7pm and the water is COLD.

Excellent choice of foods in the restaurant - buffet breakfast allows you to be as adventurous as you like, with a liberal mixing of foods and liquids only limited by your appetite.

The hotel offers a free golf cart ride up to the shopping mall, but a walk through the park is more rewarding.

This is the latest addition of hotels in the vicinity of KLCC area. Under the management of Shangri-La group, Traders hotel is sort of attached to the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, it is normally patronised by business travellers. I was there with my hubby under company's expenses and what a great experience!

Check-in was efficiently & smoothly done. The rate for Parkview & cityview rooms differed by RM20++ (based on our corporate rate).

Security is assured as access to guest floors are by the room card key but now only applicable after 10 pm. Upon arrival, the concierge with help you with your luggage which is sent to your room upon your check-in.Reception is on the 5th floor. The front office staff are a helpful & cheerful bunch of people. For group check-in, 1st floor is dedicated just for that.

Parking is complimentary for hotel's guests. Different charges for room with breakfast & wothout. If you are 'Jade' member; ur partenr stay & eats breakfast for free. Breakfast is served at Gobo Chit Chat Restaurant on level 5 and they have a wide spread of 'Global' food. It means from local to western and even Japanese & Chinese food included!

The room is spacious and the bathroom too. Clever enough, the wardrobe was designed with mirrored doors so the room look spacious. I think it is the new trend nowadays that even the wall are made of mirrors...not all, but u dont have to fight for it...hahahaha. A relaxing couch is there for you to enjoy the cable channels on the LCD screen TV.

The covered in-door swimming pool is on the 33rd floor. There, it is also the location for Sky Bar. Join them together, it is called Sky Bar Pool! By the way, u dont need to spend a cent to enter the bar if you intend to savour the views only.

Gym is on 26th floor and the Spa is on 34th floor. Information on services offered is available in the room.

Wireless internet access at the lobby is free. Broadband services are available in the room at some charges.

Unique Quality: The great view of the Petronas twin towers from the Sky Bar Pool on 33rd floor! Its simply gorgeous especially at dusk! (refer 2nd pic)

The electricity outlets (socket) are designed in such a way that u dont need an adapter regardless where u are from. It is strategically embedded at the head of the study desk in the room. The desk lamp switch is somewhere there too.

Buggy pick-up & drop-off services from the hotel to the twin towers (at Suria KLCC) at an interval of 10 to 15 minutes from 7.30 am to 10 pm on weekdays & during wknds it starts at 9.00 am. Now 2 more new buggies were added to their asset list...thats why the continuos service except if its raining. Even if you miss it, the towers are within walking distance through the park or through the pedestrian tunnel from the KL Convention Centre.

This hotel was opened only around June 2006 so very modern. It is affiliated with the Shangri La Hotel. This hotel has great facilities - in room there is a flat screen tv, power points that take international plugs, broadband access and I had GREAT views of the towers and gardens. The rooms are quite spacious, there is a separate bath to the shower. I am a very experienced traveller and received the best service I have ever received anywhere in the world. I had to go to hospital during my stay - the hotel staff contacted the hospital to ensure I was ok, organised transport from hospital to the hotel when I was released, and my room had been issued with a fresh fruit basket and flowers wishing me a quick recovery. I highly recommend this hotel

Unique Quality: New, modern, great views, few minutes walk from Petronia Twin Towers. Nice open bar area with stunning views of the Gardens and Towers up on the 31st floor. It is situated above the convention centre so caters for business travellers more than families. The convention centre is a stop for the KL "Hop On Hop Off" bus which is a great way to see KL. The gardens are a very pleasant walk with nice sculptures in them. The hotel is a quick taxi ride to the main shopping areas (about 4 ringits unless traffic is very bad).

Loved the lobby arrangement. Despite being rated a 4-star hotel, Traders has done pretty well in interior design. The room was nice too, especially the decorative stuff in the bathroom, very chic indeed. My room had superb view of the Petronas Twin Towers amidst the greenery of KLCC Park. The main selling point of Traders Hotel KLCC is the Sky Lounge, an open roof top place where the swimming pool and cocktail bar are located. A great city hotel!
