How can I add my event to VirtualTourist? To add an event, you must be a member and membership of VirtualTourist is always free! If you are already a member, just log in and go to the create an event page and follow the simple instructions to create an event. If you are not yet a member, don't worry, it's easy. Join now using your email address and then you can create an event.
What type of events can be added? We accept all type of events in various categories from Arts & Entertainment, to Sports & Outdoors, Food & Wine and more. However any event deemed unlawful, libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, indecent (including nudity), lewd, suggestive, harassing, threatening, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, abusive, inflammatory, fraudulent or otherwise objectionable will be immediately removed along with the member.
Which locations can you create an event for? You can add an event to any location that is a city/town on VT. If you're location is not listed, please contact to have that location reviewed for consideration to be added to the site.
How can I add an event for a venue that isn't listed? You can add the venue easily when creating an event and clicking on "Add a Place." Just follow the steps and the venue will be created.
What information is needed to add an event? You need to add the following in order to create an event:
- Event Title: This is the name of your event
- Location: The city or town where your event is happening
- Venue: The physical place where your event is happening
- Event Category: Type of event, select one
- Start date and time and end date and time
- Event description: tell people a little about your event
- Create tickets (this is optional)
- Hotels Nearby: Let your attendees know where they can stay. This is pre-populated with 4 hotels nearest your venue, however you can choose to change the hotels if you have event partners
- Cover Photo: This is optional, however is required if you would like your event to be considered for inclusion in the "featured events" list
- Event Logo: Just as it says, an event logo
