"Meeting other Vters." by dabidc

First time as host to a Vter visiting Calgary. Jamie and I spent some 2 hours visiting a few places in Calgary before he continued his journey to Fort McMurray.

I am sure Jamie will add some photos to his travel pages before too long, not only about Calgary but also Seattle

My visit to Budapest and Lake Balaton was enhanced by the knowledge and the wisdom of Andras.

Andras gave me advice on places to visit near the river in Budapest, the results of my visit are shown on my Budapest page.

We met in the evening over a meal and planned a day visit to Lake Balaton on the Saturday, again the photos and info are shown on my Lake Balaton page.

On Sunday he took me to the station as I headed towards Graz in Austria.

Rafael was the first Vt er I met and it is fitting that the visit was to Rio, Niteroi, Petropolis and Ilha Grande.

The island was an unspoilt place off the coast south east of Rio. Accessible by ferry boat( a 2 hour journey) and the best way to the beaches on the island was by small boat.

Near the end of theur visit to Idaho, Oregon, British Columbia and Alberta, I took Rebibi and Remo for a day to Kananaskis Country.

The places visited included the Vistor Centre, Barrier Lake, Mount Lorette Ponds, Kananaskis Village for a meal, and to end the picture perfect day we drove to Upper Kananaskis Lake, a small man made lake surrounded by mountains.

George ( tiabunna) and his good wife Pauline, stopped of in Calgary for a day and a night before venturing west on the train thru the Rockies to Vancouver.

Their visit to the Canadian west was after they had spent time in Eastern Canada, from Lunenburg, to Halifax to Montreal and Quebec City.

Hosted by several Vters, but I will let them tell the stories and show the photos.

The 3 of us met briefly at the restaurant of the Sandman Inn in Calgary, photo taken by one of the friendly staff.

I wore my Aussie shirt in recognition of my visitors.
