Los que somos de Santander pensamos que es una ciudad maravillosa.
Es la capital de Cantabria , situada al norte de España y a orillas del Mar Cantábrico; esto hace que podamos disfrutar del mar en todos sus aspectos, paisajes , playas, pesca , vela ,... Al mismo tiempo es una provincia que tiene sitios espectaculares.
Una de sus grandes ventajas es que en Cantabria hay gran cantidad de alternativas; tiene altas montañas donde poder esquiar en invierno (Campoo) y hacer interesantes rutas por sitios que son inolvidables, tampoco se pueden olvidar las cuevas rupestres (Altamira, El Soplao, ..) ni los paseos que se pueden hacer , a menos de una hora de distancia , a sitios y playas de lo más variados y espectaculares. Por citar alguno diremos :
Santillana ,Liébana,playa de Liencres , San Vicente ,Soba ... y muchos más..., pero lo mejor es que pinchéis Cantabria Infinita porque ellos son profesionales y os explicaran las cosas mejor que yo.
Santander dispone de un clima templado durante todo el año. La temperatura media es de 20º C, durante los meses de abril a septiembre, y de 10º C, de diciembre a marzo, aunque a menudo en invierno llega a alcanzar unos 20º C debido al viento sur. Pero el tiempo bueno no se puede asegurar ya que en cualquier época puede haber cambios rápidos y pasar de un tiempo soleado a lluvias por lo que aquí decimos cuando se hace un plan que hay que hacerlo "aunque haga bueno".
No podemos acabar sin decir algo de la gastronomía ,yo diría de la comida , que es excelente y variada ya que combina perfectamente los productos del mar con los de la tierra. Voy a citar tan sólo unos cuantos ,que hay que probar antes de irse de Santander: Rabas ,Marmita, pimientos con anchoas, cocido y la gran variedad de quesos. Se me olvidaban las Quesadas y los Sobaos de postre o para desayunar!.

It is Cantabria capital, located in the north of Spain, by the Cantabria sea; for this reason We can enjoy the sea in all aspects, landscapes, beaches, fishing, sailing,... and at the same time we have a province with spectacular places.
One of the great advantages of Santander is the quantity of alternatives and choices you have to enjoy it, there are high mountains, you can sky in winter ( Alto Campoo), do interesting routs in unforgetable places, go to the caves ( Altamira, El Soplao ...) , or the walks you can do in less than an hour to places and awesome and different beaches...
We will list some of them : Santillana, Liébana, Liencres beach, San Vicente, Soba ... and lots of more we could tell you, but is better if you click in Cantabria Infinita as they are professionals and will give you a better idea than I.
Santander has a mild weather during all the year. The average temperature is 20ª between April and September and 10ª from December to March, though quite often in winter temperature reaches 20ª due to South winds. But "nice" weather cannot be granted because at any time it can changed from a sunny day to rain, that is the reoson we say when we are making a plan that it must be done "Though the weather is good".
We cannot finish without saying something of the gastronomy, I should say the food is excellent, has a big variety and combines perfectly sea and land products.
I will list some of them, that you should not miss although is difficult to make the selection!: Rabas (fried calamari), Marmita ( potatoes an tuna fish), red peper with anchovies, cocido (beans) and the big range of cheeses. UUUps! I was forgetting the sweets, quesadas and sobaos, for breakfast or dessert!
