Vacation Paradise for Young and Old It has been a long tradition to have vacation at Lake Attersee. Franz Karl Ginzkey, one of the outstanding Austrian writers, who spent his vacations in Seewalchen at Lake Attersee called the lake and the surrounding lake valley "Attersee the Artist". And I think he was right as many visitors of the area can confirm. Many other artists, writers and composers, among them Gustav Mahler, Gustav Klimt, Chriatian Ludwig, Heimito von Doderer were impressed by the marvelous landscapes of the area and reflected their admiration and impressions in their works. Christian Ludwig, one of the contemporary Austrian painters (born in 1940), signed his works as ATTERSEE and made the lake world famous. You can see some of his works in Atterseehalle that was dedicated in 1996 in the city of Attersee.

| The town of Attersee , Lake Attersee, Austria |
| | Very Attractive Destination The lake is about 46 sq.km/17.7 square miles. Its shoreline is about 50 km/31 milies long. The deepest place is 171 meters/560 feet. The lake is located at 469 meters/1,540 feet above the sea level. The lake is about 20 km/12.4 miles long and from 2 to 3 km (1.2 - 1.8 miles)wide. I would say all the towns are just like one big city located around the lake.

| Always take the ship around the lake! |
| | Lake Traffic The lake is famous for its pure water, sports activities of the people, ship cruises and its cities. You can forget your daily stress, go in for sports, bathe and lie in the sun, relax and enjoy the unique natural landscapes here. We spent about three weeks at Lake Attersee and would like to stay more, but we had to leave...
