This is a famous tongue twister with the name of the city. Try to pronounce it twelve times, each time increasing your speaking speed. Then tell me what word you get in the end?
To be more serious, I was happy to make a day's trip to Ulm when I was not far from it. Our hosts were kind enough to take us there to enable us to see the Danube, the famous Münster and the historical downtown.
It was breathtaking to climb the numerous steps of the city cathedral and to enjoy a bird's eye view from its top. They say the cathedral called Muenster can house up to 20,000 people - more than the number of the city dwellers in the 14th century when the cathedral was built.
We strolled downtown, went shopping and admired the central square.
Ulm has another wonderful site: the leaning tower - der Schiefe Turm called Metzgerturm (Butcher's Tower). The tower leans more than 2 meters to the northwest.
